Coaching and Counselling for School Staff.
Teaching and working in schools is one of the most demanding of jobs
in our modern society. It is full of pressure and complications from a
variety of sources. Many of these pressures appear to come from sources
outside the main role of teaching the pupils, which make them an added
burden or source of stress. As you continue to work in schools, so you
have to face all these pressures and demands. Many staff find it
increasingly difficult to cope and to continue to deliver their best for
the benefit of the pupils. Consequently many staff find themselves in
need of support or reluctantly consider leaving their chosen profession.
Yet teaching is also one of the most rewarding and worthwhile of jobs
in our society. It is also one of the most important particularly for
the benefit and future of our children.
Coaching and Counselling for School Staff is being offered
exclusively for people working in schools. Its purpose is to help staff
cope with the pressures and demands made upon them. It is also intended
to help staff to continue offering their best to their pupils and to
gain or increase the satisfaction they gain from their chosen career.
The service is particularly useful for staff at various times of
their work or career;
Newly Qualified Teachers
getting to terms with the demands of their new career,
Staff preparing, going
through or facing the aftermath of inspection or audit,
A newly appointed Head or
promoted teacher taking on a new role,
Staff facing disciplinary
charges or investigation,
Staff who face abuse or
assault,
Coping with the demands of
paperwork,
Coming to terms with new
technology,
Seeking promotion or a new
position,
The effects of the job upon
social life or relationships,
The service is designed to support individual members of staff or,
through workshops, to support a school staff as a whole.
The service is provided mostly by short telephone sessions that can
be held during the day or in the early morning to take advantage of
non-contact, PPA time or time when pupils are not present. It is also
possible to provide introductory or taster sessions through INSET or
twilight workshops.
Staff using the service have the advantage that I am a qualified
teacher and have spent over 20 years in schools. Consequently I have
experience of many of the issues facing staff.
If you would like to benefit from this service for yourself or for
your staff, please email me at the email address above or use the

Workshops for
School Staff |
Two workshops sessions are available
separately for the Coaching and Counselling for School Staff service.
These are offered to schools.
An introductory workshop is offered free of charge to schools. This
is usually delivered during staff meeting or twilight hours. The
introductory workshop will introduce staff to the service and
demonstrate how it can be of use to them in helping to manage daily life
and workload demands.
A half-day workshop is also offered to schools and can be used to
form part of an INSET training day for staff. The half day course will
introduce the staff to the service, demonstrate how it can be of use in
helping manage daily life and workload demands, it will also allow the
staff time and opportunities to take part in exercises to demonstrate
the benefits of coaching or counselling for staff.
If you are interested in arranging for either an introductory
workshop or a half-day workshop for staff at a school, please use the
email address above or the contact form and please state in your message
which type of workshop you would like.
